The concept of making an aura is simple, the actual construction can be a bit more annoying.

If you want to make an aura to double hit your opponents mana you must first know the aproximate range of they're mana. Generly speaking high mana is considered 1.5 - 1.572 (2.55 - 2.62, 3.65 - 3.72 and so on).

Now to make an aura that double hits high mana you need to take into consideration the following:
1. Only 95% of damage goes to mana, now that 5% may seem insugnificant but it's all the heal your opponent gets off your aura, and 5% of 520,000 damage is still a good deal of damage.
2. To double hit your opponent you must move they're mana into a bad range, bad ranges being 528k - 1.04 (1.573 - 2.1, 2.6 - 3.2 and so on) to objective is to ping they're mana from it's current value into the bad one

For example: If your opponent has 1,572,400 mana you need to do aproximately 530,000 damage to push them into the bad range, and likely more then that because mana regenerates so fast it would lilkely rise back out of the bad range before your smite hit. In order to double hit the mana value 1.572 you would need an aura that does Between 550k and about 1 million damage to your opponents mana.

3. You have to remember that Telekinesis reduces the amount of damage given to the mana, so you actually have to do considerably more damage then 500k before TK reduces the damage. Level 31-32 TK and up reduces the damage to your mana by 16 times, so you need to do 16 * 530k - 1 mill (Between 9 million and 16 million damage) with your aura in order to hit high mana.

It would be an easy enough equation to figure out exactly what aura level and masteries % to attain these damages, if you want to do the math then go ahead, but otherwise it's not the most difficult thing to simply add masteries and holy aura until you start dealing damage.

Reminder: Always remember that 5% of your damage will go to your opponents life, and thus he will heal off that 5% based on how much absorbs he has, so try to make the lowest aura you can that still hits the mana range you want. Then you can have the most effective aura possible.

Hope that was helpful
